A tiny, well stocked shop with great service and very helpful staff. Due to an oversight, I was given some wrong bottles, which were placed into a bag. I didn't realise this and took my bag back to my hotel and only the next day did I realise it. Went back and they graciously exchanged for what I had wanted, and went above and beyond to deliver them to my hotel since some were in the back and the lady at the counter couldn't get them out. Thank you!

A short walk from the Hilton Midtown, this small wine and spirit shop has a wide selection of bottles from more affordable to very expensive. (I spotted a $5,000 bottle.) If you want chilled wine, go to the very back to find the refrigerator. My wife and I enjoyed a cold bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa for $20.

(Reply to company response at the bottom) DISCRIMINATORY practices by the presumed boss of the establishment. I, a 20 something Black male entered the store, and was initially serviced by a kind employee pointing me to the champagnes. This was an incredibly pleasant experience, he was ready to help and made me feel comfortable. However, after this point, I was further questioned by who I believe to be the boss asking if I was looking for anything, while looking at the champagne I had just asked for and been attended to. This felt unnecessary, anyone who shares a similar identity to me or understand the implications of this action. At this point, I then head up to the counter with my desired bottle. From here it felt as though the manager and additional sales tax took all in any attempts not to allow me to purchase what I wanted. Initially, it was because of an expired ID (my ID was scanned to discover this, while other patrons simply showed ID and the store clerk verified birthdate) While I can understand this, I later return with my valid passport to which the boss now at the register, deeply scrutinizes my documents. This experience felt as though the store was looking for any reason not to sell to me. Prior to her telling me the price she asked if the name on my debit card matches my passport — again, the implications are there and quite overt. After brief discussion, I just decide to comply, though offended and disappointed with my expierence. As I walked out, I thanked the kind sales associate, and the female boss remarks “unfortunately he’s not the boss of this place.” Completely uneccesaary and unprofessional. I personally will never shop here again, management his representative of a company in their values, and I would hope no one desires to be treated in this fashion. I wish them nothing but failure in the future. I’ve attached my bottle for proof I’ve actually shopped there. This is a real review and should not be seen as spam or fske. (1/5/2025) UPDATE I would like to follow up on this review as the company has replied to my negative review. Based on their response, they attempt to slander and discredit my review. By mentioning that I entered with 10 other people. This could not be further from the truth, and only further speaks to their discriminatory mindset. I entered the store alone, however, a group of black patrons entered before me enter briefly before me. I never once spoke spoke to these individuals, which can be seen on the “security footage” they claim to have. Furthermore, when I went to pay, I was the only person in line. The other patrons in a completely different area of the store (or have potentially left at this point) — again I do not know these people therefore I never paid attention to their exact whereabouts. This belief helds by the store leads me to believe they think all Black people are connected or something of that sort. Footage will clearly show I had no association with these people. I also don’t understand why the store associate would feel threatened with at least two other employees (Male) in the store, next to her at the time of purchase. I as one person left with one bottle, I cannot soeak for the group to which I have no association’s actions. It is easy to hide your racism behind “laws and regulations” however what happened to me is inexcusable and I felt I should add this additional clarity. Minorities avoid this store at all costs!

I wouldn’t say this store is racist but definitely have some prejudice going on, depending on what days you come in the store or i guess how staff is feeling they are nice or nasty , don’t have anything to do with me but check it at the door. My issue is it’s New York State law to CHECK EVERYONES ID, it’s been multiple times I’ll come in and constantly get carded but a person not of color doesn’t get carded? It’s weird honestly like they pick and choose who to follow rules for just make it fair for everyone so people don’t feel a way.

The staff goes out of their way to make sure you leave with something, even if it’s not exactly what you were looking for. They offer good alternatives, provide thoughtful advice, and are very professional. They are highly knowledgeable about the products.
