literally just got racially profiled. I went in with my friend who is lighter skinned than me and they didn’t ask for her id but the man behind the counter started demanding my passport and ID. i showed him both and he barely believed me. I walked out because i couldn’t support a business that treated me that way. I also have a vertice NY state ID issued three years ago when I was under 21 why would that be fake? if their concerns about fakes are so bad they should get an ID scanner and not yell at potential customers

Walked in last night around 10:45pm to pick up a bottle of wine. The lady didn’t open her mouth to speak. Not 2 minutes later a group of white people came in and received the biggest greeting I’ve ever heard. They checked out and had what sounded like the most pleasant experience. I wish I could say the same, because when I went to check out, all I got out of the lady was the total and a question asking if I wanted a bag. The ONLY reason I made a purchase was because they were the only store open at that time. But the disrespect was very felt and noted. I’ll never walk in there again.

WAYYY OVERPRICED!!! They charged me $65 for 1L bottle Cointreau. I thought it seemed high. Left the store, immediately called liquor store on Bway and 72nd and they charge $44. Called another on 86th and same $44 price. Went back in (within 5 min) and they said no returns!!!! The paper receipt actually does say “no returns”. Wonder why they have that on their receipt???!!!

Beware!! The owner is a horrible cantankerous old man. I asked how the owner was doing when he rang me up on a Sat night at 630p. He asked me why I was asking him how he was doing. I thought it was a communication barrier, but then he stated, “why would I ask how he’s doing when this is my first time in the store?” I was somewhat shocked at his negativity and direct comments. I replied, “First of all, I was just trying to be friendly, but secondly- Just so you know- I’ve been in this store 3-4 times previously.” He then denied the fact I had ever been in the store previously numerous times and each time I corrected him and stated I live down the street.” In fact, looking back at it, I purchased a bottle from him my very first time- Woodford Reserve. I’ve also purchased 2 bottles of champagne, 2 bottles of wine, a top shelf Russian Vodka (XYZ) and a few bottles of Tito’s from his remaining staff, who are all good people and know their alcohol! Honestly, I just feel bad for the staff for having to work for an owner like that. Maybe he found out his woman was cheating on him, which was why he was so sulky. BTW- the owner and I are the same race and again, the actual staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
