CVS Introduce

Looking for a "liquor store near me"? Please note that while some CVS locations may sell beer, wine, or spirits depending on local regulations, CVS is primarily a drugstore offering pharmacy services and a wide variety of health, wellness, and retail products. The CVS located at 1396 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10021, has received mixed feedback from customers regarding its services and staffing.

Several concerns have been raised about the pharmacy staffing at this CVS location. Customers report that the pharmacy is frequently understaffed, leading to potential delays. According to one pharmacist, this understaffing is allegedly intentional by upper management. There was also a mention of a rejected proposal to add more cash registers, reportedly due to management's concern that quicker service might attract more customers to this specific location.

Regarding the retail experience, one customer shared an incident involving self-checkout. While they had positive past interactions with one of the managers, they reported an unprofessional and judgmental encounter with another staff member (described as white, brown hair, possibly in his 30s) while trying to pay for food items using EBT. This staff member allegedly loudly announced the customer's use of EBT in front of other shoppers and had been rude to the customer and elderly individuals on previous occasions. The manager, however, was noted for being hardworking, professional, and friendly, and efficiently resolved the self-checkout issue.

The reviews suggest that while some staff members, particularly one of the managers, provide good customer service, there are significant concerns about understaffing in the pharmacy and unprofessional behavior from at least one other employee in the retail area.

For pharmacy-related inquiries or to address concerns, you can contact this CVS at (212) 249-5699 or their mobile number +1 212-249-5699. Customers using the pharmacy may want to be prepared for potential delays due to understaffing. Shoppers in the retail area may experience varied levels of customer service.

If you are a local resident of Taiwan searching for a drugstore while visiting or residing in the New York, NY area, this CVS location offers pharmacy services and a range of retail goods. However, please be aware of the reported issues with pharmacy staffing and potential inconsistencies in customer service within the store. It may be beneficial to consider these factors when choosing this location for your needs. We recommend contacting the store directly for any specific inquiries regarding their services or products.

Whoever is in charge of staffing the Pharmacy needs to be fired, always understaffed and according to one of the pharmacists that’s intentional by upper management. Genuinely appalling. Apparently it was considered adding more cash registers but it was rejected by management as that would convince customers from other areas to come to this specific location for quicker service

I never leave poor reviews and this is my first time doing so. The reason I am leaving 2 stars and not 1 is because I have had many pleasant interactions before with one of the managers (today he was working the register around 3:45pm and dealing with a long line). He is very hardworking, professional, and friendly. Today I came in to the store and tried to buy a few things under two separate transactions using self-checkout. The first was for hair clips, which I paid for in cash. The second was for two small food items, which I tried to pay for using EBT. This is something I am not proud of using, but I work part time because I have an autoimmune disease and take care of my mother who is ill. One of the food items would not go through, so I asked the man working the self-checkout items for help. He told me he could not void a transaction which I'd paid for in part, so I asked him what to do. The (much nicer) man working the register came over and voided the transaction very quickly, and was very professional. The other guy (white, brown hair, maybe 30s) made a point of screaming out that I had been using EBT in front of the whole store and a line of customers. I worked retail management for several years and would never think of doing this to any customer. It is both highly unprofessional and judgmental. He has been quite rude to me in the past as well and I have noticed him rolling his eyes and being rude to elderly customers. I will be letting all of my friends in the area know about this situation, as well as my mother (who uses the pharmacy, has Aetna, and also shops at this store). I hope this serves as a message that you should treat other human beings with dignity, and that you never know what another person is going through. Apologies for not getting the staff member names, as it would have been helpful.

Worst CVS in the city. Over the past several months since I started using them, they misplaced a prescription; failed multiple times to let me know when medication that have been ordered was not available and was going to be delayed; delivery service generally has taken two days because they use a third-party service, and if the service hasn't received the medication by a certain time, it's too late for the next day delivery; and once a medication has been picked up by the delivery service, the people in the pharmacy have no way of tracking to find out where it is or when it will actually be delivered. I'm stuck using them because my health insurance uses CVS as a preferred provider, and if I go anywhere else, I will have to pay a hefty co-pay. There should be a warning on their website not to use this location if a prescription needs to be filled quickly and reliably.

After CVS closed their store at 64th and Second Ave this has been the CVS which serves the area. The place is a shambles. The pharmacy is overwhelmed and the lines tend to be massive and slow regardless of the time of day. If CVS plans to close a store, they should increase the staffing at nearby stores to cope with the added demand. It's basic.

Not 24/7! Take down the sign. Sidenote: pretty much every other CVS location has less wait time for both pharmacy and checkout + friendlier staff (I assume because these locations are properly staffed, so the employees aren’t as stressed)
