    Racist. The owner didn’t believe I could afford a $2000 product and refused to accept my credit card because of “the cost of the bottle and I don’t know you.” Isn’t every new customer someone you don’t know? He insisted I could only purchase it using cash or debit card, I had to go to a bank to withdraw (and thus get charged atm fees). When I returned to the store the bottle wasn’t even where he’d left it (by the register ready for purchase) he had already put it back on the shelf. He tried to be more polite/professional as things continued and I do appreciate that he offered a $100 discount (because I paid in cash), a taste of anejo, and conversation about his holiday season, but I unfortunately couldn’t leave happy. As I was exiting his assistant said the bottle I bought is “for good clients only” and I had to remind them that I am a “good client” I literally just bought it!!! So what does it take to be considered a “good client” by them? He also gave me a bag for the bottle which I thought was a gift but when I checked the receipt he charged me for it. I’ve never written a review before, I always leave life to karma, but it was a really negative, biased experience that insulted me and ultimately others deserve to know. Thank you for what was good about the interaction but I would never shop here again.

    "Browsing is a circus" These were the words said to me not even 30 seconds when I arrived to this establishment. The moment I entered, the owner inquired what I was looking for. When i responded that I was browsing, he became more insistent on my intentions. When i responded "im hear to look at your offeriengs, and will purchase it if it's within my price range". He soon gave me his card and propose I look for for what I need on his website. Returning to my browsing, he then confronted on my intentions not 30 seconds later. It seems he does not take kind to browsing and said it's a waste of time for both him and the patron, further insisting to use his website as opposed to in person viewing. Perplexed by this line of thinking, I departed empty handed with nothing but his card and a quick glimpse of an inventory with secondary market prices. If this is their standards in customer interaction, can't say I'll be providing them with business

    Igor was the nicest guy and helped me pick the right item for the special occasion. He was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! It is great to see incredible people like him caring so much about customers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (P.S. they also have a website and do deliveries through that!)

    The times that I have felt lazy and didn't feel like going to west 7th street to get my wine there, I will drag myself to this establishment where I instantly feel like I'm a celebrity because all eyes are on me and I even get my own personal wanna be sommelier following me around! They're quick to ask me if I need help even though I've yet to look at what they have. Suggestions are freely given even though I never asked for it and I feel like if I move an inch, the wanna be sommelier moves with me. It's like they don't trust me as a customer. Maybe they think I'm going to steal from them? I mean that does explain why I have a shadow behind me as I walk around the store, watching what I'm touching and wishing that I would just make a purchase and leave. Joking aside, I don't know what past trauma they endured where they feel like some of their customers should get one on one unneeded attention but it's just creepy and sad. And I'm not the only customer who has felt this way. Unfortunately you're only seeing the reviews from people that, chances are, they are familiar with. Because regular clientele feel a whole lot different than what they're stating here.
